Karate Gradings

Gradings generally take place every 3 months. You will be able to take a grading when you have gained the required number of hours training and are competent with the various techniques including Basics (Kihon), Forms (Kata) and for the advanced belts Sparring (Kumite). When you are successful you will be entitled to wear a coloured belt and will move on to more advanced techniques ensuring continuous development. For Dan grades permission must be sought from the Chief Instructor before being allowed to Grade.

Grading Information

You must hold a valid UKSKO licence which you will need to take along to your grading without it you will not be able to grade.

On Occasion a student may receive a 'Provisional' grade, which means that they are not quite up to the required standard. They can however wear the full grade belt and train on the same syllabus, but in the next grading the student will need to retry for the full grade
